The Secret
By: Rhonda Byrne
I thought it would be appropriate to start off the recommended reading section with the book that changed my life. This book showed me how negative my thoughts, words and actions were and because of this, I was drawing more negative events into my life. This is a must read for recognizing negative patterns and kick starting your positive mindset.
Oh, and for my non-readers “The Secret” is also a documentary on Netflix.

The Magic
By: Rhonda Byrne
The Magic isn’t so much of a sequel to The Secret, as it dives deeper. The Book includes twenty-eight practices to learn how to improve all areas of your life. I enjoyed completing the twenty-eight days of Magic and still use them from time to time. This book is essential for understanding and practicing gratitude.

The Power of Your Subconscious Mind
By: Joseph Murphy
Once I had been awakened to my negativity and I understood the basis of the Law of Attraction, I went searching for books to expand my knowledge on the subject. One of my favorites is the Power of your Subconscious Mind. This book explains how habits, thoughts and life events are imbedded in our subconscious. If you want to understand how your subconscious mind works, read this book!

As a Man Thinketh
By: James Allen
One of my absolute favorites was written by James Allen in 1903. This book is an easy read but packed full of his philosophy on positive thinking. Mr. Allen touches on how thoughts have an effect on circumstances and health. Although this book is old, the wisdom contained within is timeless.

You are a Badass
By: Jen Sincero
This book will make you laugh while inspiring you to live your best life. Jen Sincero touches on understanding the subconscious mind, gratitude, self-perception, and getting over your own B.S. I own the hard copy and the audiobook. I love it that much.

What I Know for Sure
By: Oprah Winfrey
Oprah’s book is light and uplifting. Considering Oprah is wildly successful it is worth the read to learn what she knows. In this book Oprah talks about gratitude, becoming resilient from bad experiences, and enjoying the small things in life. In short this book is a compilation of events in Oprah’s life that gave her a greater understanding of life’s purpose.

The Alchemist
By: Paulo Coelho
My daughter had to read this book for her freshman English class. Parents had to purchase the book, which I was pissed about at first. Once she was done with the book, I took the opportunity to read it. After reading the book, I wasn’t upset that I had to buy it. The Alchemist is a work of fiction that weaves in the law of attraction. The book follows a boy on his search for treasure and the boy learns many things on his journey.
